As well as working across a number of public sector projects, I am working closely within the engineering community at Hippo, ensuring the wellbeing of colleagues (via line management), personal development (through community events, show and tells, and community of practice), and growing our team of Hippos through engaging with our recruitment team.More recently I have taken on a Technical Lead role within a team at a large private sector client and have been also simultaneously working as the Solution Delivery Lead across a number of teams within the same client. This has enabled me to further develop my interpersonal and business skills, along with providing great insight into the commercial side of the business.

I took on the role of interim Delivery Partner, becoming one of the primary contracts for one of our Private Sector clients.I was responsible for ensuring that our team within the client was functioning cohesively, working against agreed objectives, delivering quality work, meeting contractual obligations, identifying opportunities and growing the account.This involved building and maintaining strong relationships with the client, and ensuring contracts were defined, agreed and signed on time, internal operations were updated and processes were managed for the execution of services.

Working across a number of government projects, utilising Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.With my first project, I had to integrate quickly into an existing project with extremely rapid development needs due to constantly changing Cabinet Office changes.

In this role, I worked on upgrading, improving, and delivering new features to the Xercise4Less web site and customer portal.The portal itself utilised many different technologies, mostly brokered through the Microsoft Azure stack. This heavily involved lots of integration points, brokering connections between Microsoft Excel data imports, a 3rd party Gym Management system, Magento Enterprise (for content data), and a React SPA for the web front-end.I was responsible for coding standards and ensuring we were following SOLID principles, both in our small local development team, and utilising additional resource from over a dozen resources at our South African development partner.This was a very blended role, which utilised many of my skills, from interpersonal, through to technical and mentoring.The project itself was almost fully developed and was due to go live when, unfortunately, pressures from the Covid-19 pandemic forced the company into insolvency.

Initially brought in to work on a new B2B portal, I found myself quickly moved to a project running behind schedule. Moving on to a B2C and B2B portal for a global pensions provider, I worked closely with the business analysts and existing teams ensuring that our understanding and estimates were valid. Utilising Agile methodologies, we worked in flexible sprints to ensure that we delivered as much of what the business deemed most important as efficiently as possible.The projects I worked with leveraged the Microsoft Azure stack, using a mixture of .NET Framework, .NET Standard, and .NET Core. Working on the portal projects, I quickly found myself moved to a "Squad Lead", which ensured I worked closely with other teams within the business including back-end and front-end developers, Analysts, Architects, DevOps, and Test teams.

Initially starting in a newly created role targetting new technologies within the Microsoft Stack, I found myself looking into the business and technical processes within IT Services. I found that code quality was lacking and deployment processes were extremely manual and laborious. I used my development experience and experience from members of the Infrastructure and Operations teams to help implement a Contiunous Integration solution incorporating new code repositories, deployment techniques and database versioning across a multitude of platforms including .NET, PHP, Groovy/Grails, Java, and Sitecore. As a senior, I have been helping to mentor junior team mebers and student placements.

Working with both onshore and offshore development teams, I am developing a new flagship product for the Public Sector.This role has allowed me to return to my roots in cutting edge development and involves utilising the latest technologies available.

I initially started at PureNet as a developer, but quickly progressed to the role of Senior Developer where I became responsible for larger projects and mentoring the more junior members of the team. After some time spent helping our sales team as a technical consultant, I was promoted to Lead Technical Architect and then a Business Analyst, although I’m still very hands-on with development.I am now regularly meeting with existing and potential clients to help understand their business, both from a process level and from a technical perspective. Using the knowledge of our existing framework and previous experience, I am then able to help draft scoping, requirement and technical documentation as well as with development and integration, where required

I took this role due to its initial challenges. The company were months behind in development and the company’s clients were no longer confident in the company’s development and deployment skills.I was able to bring the company’s development back onto schedule and headed meetings with their clients to ensure they felt secure with the company’s abilities again.

After being recommended to this role by a friend, I worked as part of a team of developers on Agentrics’ flagship PLM software.Some of my major work involved amalgamating various areas of the system into a single page for a specific type of user. Another part of my work, which is still used in product demonstrations, was a reporting utility utilising large amounts of data, but outputting through Reporting Services via a web front end.

I initially started this role as a sole developer after the company's move from London to the High Wycombe area. As the company grew, I then became a senior developer, both managing and mentoring the junior developer that started.I was responsible for maintaining, bug fixing and developing new features for a large software project deployed over multiple servers and used, real-time by over 500 simultaneous users within the property industry, including time management, import/export and financial systems. I also worked maintaining and expanding the company network and servers as the company expanded.

I joined this team as the new lead developer, helping with a project that had fallen behind and was also suffering performance issues due to the fact it was running on a Microsoft Access database. Version 2.0 of the software was rewritten from the ground up and included porting the data to SQL Server and implementing stored procedures. I was also responsible for IT support and maintenance for the office, continuing the development of the company's products and developing new systems in the Recruitment industry, including server to server export routines and a new complete eRecruitment system for HFC Bank.

This role initially started out with me working as a webmaster for the site diytools.com. However, after making some performance improvements to the site I was offered a position as a Junior Software Developer. I stayed with the company over two years vastly expanding my knowledge and experience to become a fully fledged developer. In my time with Imano I learnt much about development techniques and expanded my self-taught knowledge with help from my mentors.
