Selected by Hustle Belt as one of the top 50 MAC players at #37 in 2014, Andre Davis was a pillar on Buffalo’s offensive line. Davis played all 4 years, 2011-2014, and started in 48 games with the Bulls and most recently made the 2014 All-MAC Third Team Offense. While blocking for the Bulls in 2012, Andre helped lead a group that improved the team’s total offensive yardage from 2011 and helped pave the way for 2,120 rushing yards. Three separate Bulls were able to surpass the 500-yard rushing mark that year, which proved that it isn’t who has the ball in his hands, but rather who is clearing the way. Davis earned the team’s 2012 Workhorse Award, given to the player who played the most snaps for the team.When blocking for former UB running back Branden Oliver, now a San Diego Charger, it proved to be a dominate combination for the offense. Before Davis, BO only ran for 298 yards and 2.92 yards per carry in 10 games. With Davis, BO ran for 3,751 yards in 33 games with 4.9 yards per carry. Andre was able to open large holes for Oliver giving him the chance to run for 4,049 yards, 33 touchdowns, and is the Bulls all-time leading rusher.In 2014, UB’s offense ranked 4th in the Mid-American Conference in points and 6th in yards. The Bulls averaged 31.4 points and 427 yards, both of which are the best in the school’s 16-year Football Bowl Subdivision era. Andre’s style of play compares to former Kent State guard Brian Winters, in both size and ability. Winters was taken in the 3rd round by the New York Jets in the 2013 NFL draft and started 12 games for the Jets in the same year. There is no doubt that Andre Davis can do the same if not more.
