The STRIDES Initiative’s goal is to modernize the biomedical research ecosystem by reducing the barriers (economic and process) to accessing commercial Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). STRIDES offers discounts on cloud computing, storage, and most cloud services; provides customized training; and promotes best practices to help researchers achieve optimal use of cloud for their research.The long term goal of the STRIDES Initiative is to provide cloud tools, training and access to the 27 institutes and centers at NIH, 300,000 NIH-funded researchers and the over 2700 research partners by leveraging working agreements with partnered Cloud Service Providers and resellers.

Key Accomplishments:♣ Program manager who worked closely with the Deputy Director of NCBI for an IT annual budget of $11-$13M♣ Senior Project Manager

Led a team of eight desktop technical professionals to provide IT support to end-users. Key Accomplishments:♣ Mentored and hired an additional 50% of desktop staff, which led to improved end-user satisfaction of a customer base that had grown by 320% (up to 800 unique desktops). ♣ Project manager

Led Unix installation and configuration processes, including recruitment, staff training, and project management. Key Accomplishments:♣ Project Manager for three user migrations, each consisting of a group of 50-75 users. The migration included computer equipment and office belongings, and required close coordination with the administrative and network teams as well as hired movers to ensure a smooth transition to new office space

Led test engineering and configuration management teams for the preeminent blood banking and disaster relief organization in the US.Led TE/CM/TW branch in key strategic work with Senior VP of Blood Banking and the CTO of ARC to develop 1, 3, and 5-year goals.Transformed a configuration management from a failed audit within ARC to one that passed an internal audit less than 2 years later by implementing process improvements.Hired, trained, and mentored 24 employees, growing the TE/CM/TW team from 5 to 29 members. Hired a project specialist to track and report all ongoing projects, reducing senior staff workload by 25%.
