About William Stephens
William "Bill" Stephens (COL) graduated from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 1991 with a degree in political science and graduated from Loyola University Law School, New Orleans in 1994 with a joint certificate in common and civil law. Prior to entering into Active Duty, COL Stephens was engaged in the private practice of law in New Orleans, Louisiana and is admitted to practice in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, with active membership in Mississippi. In private practice, he was extensively involved in business and insurance litigation, including litigation of class action cases. He applied these skills as an adjunct professor for Tulane University, in New Orleans, Louisiana, teaching courses on subjects as evidence management and was one of the founding adjunct professors for Tulane University’s Homeland Security Studies program. Currently a member of the U.S. Army Reserve, in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps, with the rank of Colonel and serving as the Staff Judge Advocate with the 200th MP Command in Baltimore, Maryland. During military service he received commendations such as the Bronze Star and the Humanitarian Service Medal. He served in multiple assignments, both in the United States and overseas. His foreign assignments and deployments include serving tours in Afghanistan, Germany (U.S. AFRICOM), Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. Bill also has a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School, and is a graduate of the National Defense University (NDU), College of International and Security Affairs, with Master of Arts Degree in Strategic Security Studies with a joint focus on irregular warfare and emerging technologies.
