I am an experienced Human Resources executive with a passion for helping individuals reach their full potential and achieve their professional goals. Through my work as an Executive Advisor with Challenger, Gray and Christmas helping C-suite executives develop and executive career planning strategies, and through coaching and mentoring with Menttium, the DePaul College of Law and the All Stars Program of Chicago, I have assisted individuals at all stages of their career.In my role as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of USG Corporation, I led cultural and organizational change to drive growth and profitability, operational excellence and employee engagement. I have broad expertise in corporate governance, C-Suite succession, executive compensation, talent management, human capital development, workplace safety and health, and organizational performance. I led the human resources; employment law; corporate communications & media relations; environmental, health & safety; and corporate services units, and I provided strategic counsel to CEO's in times of rapid growth and through challenging economic conditions. I served as the liaison to the Board’s Compensation and Organization Committee and was responsible for a number of corporate-wide strategic initiatives including organization redesign & restructuring, cost reduction and change management. Leveraging my broad based-business experience, I served as a board member for USG-Boral, a $1.3B manufacturing building materials joint venture in Asia and Australasia. I am an experienced non-profit and philanthropic leader. I served as President of the USG Foundation, leading the organization’s philanthropic and corporate citizenship initiatives. The many non-profit leadership roles I have held include serving as Board Chair of the Chicago chapter of the American Red Cross.I am currently the Chair of the National Safety Council Board, reflecting my commitment to promoting employee safety, health and well being. I led USG’s environmental, health & safety units when USG was recognized as one of the safest companies in America and received the Robert Campbell Award from the National Safety Council for excellence in environmental, health and safety performance.
