Models were evolved based on criteria identified by the Bloodhound SSC team.> Undertook checkstress for a variety of failure modes, such as bearing stress and bolt shear, extracting data from FE models. Rolls-Royce Development Engineering:> Writing modification summary reports and standardisation reports for modifications introduced to the Trent 1000 and Trent XWB Engines, in compliance with European Aviation Safety Agency certification specifications.> Identified problems and solutions from information from Rolls-Royce departments.> Used a systems engineering approach to consider how individual components affect a much larger system.> Liaison with contacts at Rolls-Royce to ensure adequate analysis was carried out to show compliance; requesting testing or additional analysis where appropriate.Airbus A350-900 wing assembly team:> Developing a FE model to simulate a real rig test of ribs at different stringer positions.> Produced verification models with reports to aid refinement of the manufacturing process.> Analysed data to identify potential errors and oversights in the model, as well as providing solutions to potential problems found.> This analysis formed the basis for fatigue and damage tolerance work to identify flight loading and lifecycles.> Work was carried out using Hyperworks, using UNIX servers to process the models using NASTRAN.Non-project related work included developing a Visual Basic macro in MS Word to reduce checking time of reports regarding document references.
