Formed a new department focused on compliance for both engineering and product that has the scope for 5 different teams. Wayfair provides the ability for suppliers to sell their products on our site that requires us to verify two main areas: supplier diligence (insurance verification, business information, sanctioned lists, etc.) and product compliance for regulatory requirements like youth (cribs, playmats, etc.), hazardous materials, corporate sustainability, etc. The legal team has a broad cross functional need for their projects, and I worked across the entire engineering organization (2,000 engineers) to mature how all of these systems interact.

Managed 3-7 teams (25-50 engineers) across multiple order subdomains: order creation, purchase orders, cancellations, returns, replacements, shipping updates, fulfillment status changes and general order data access. Led multiple teams involved in a large-scale technological transformation project to create an order platform that supported >$14B in 2020 and scaling data access to 20+ post-order teams integrating 127 apps. Set the strategy for the department to build out the features necessary and helped to communicate cross functionally how Wayfair systems should integrate with true platforms.

Managed 20+ software engineers, quality engineers, business analysts and scrum masters focused on their individual success while also creating processes and procedures to reduce churn and increase productivity. Manage Core Services & Platform Engineering teams that own an enterprise wide Billing Platform that processes more than 60 million per month as well as 30+ applications. Expanded my influence to support cross functional programs including: Initiating a full time Engineering Rotation program, recruiting and managing the Software Engineering Development Program (one year recent college grad rotational program), leading a product wide awards program and led multiple initiatives for the Lower Environment Task Force focused on productivity of the entire engineering organization.

Managed 10+ software and quality engineers across three scrum teams.  Scrum master of two SOX and PCI compliant billing and internal application teams of 15 employees that support more than 25 applications.  Implemented agile and administered new JIRA workflows leading to more efficient and cohesive teams.  Led multiple high visible projects to convert Constant Contact billing services into a new billing platform to be used by all brands within Endurance.  Familiar with implementing and supporting multiple 3rd party billing and payments systems such as Vantiv, DLocal, PayPal, jBilling, Aria, Avalara and Vindicia as well as downstream CRM systems using SalesForce and Aprimo for Marketing Automation.

Managed the evolution of a .NET windows form application to an object oriented, metadata driven, Java web application. Responsible for all aspects of the project including: requirements gathering, application design, architecture, lead development and operations process to its release to production. The SOA architecture was designed to be stable, flexible, maintainable and to perform by leveraging open source frameworks (Spring, MyBatis, ExtJS, etc.). The new version empowers technical users with robust configuration capabilities while catering to the needs of business users with a new wizard-based, graphical user interface.

Developed numerous features in TalentManager® utilizing C#, ASP, SQL, JavaScript, CSS and Microsoft Reporting Services. Led the release of TalentManager® succession planning module, named the 2008 Human Resource Executive Product of the Year. Responsible for entire product life cycle including: functional specification reviews/improvements with product management, design and documentation of SQL schema/stored procedures, C# development and releases to staging and production.

As my first position out of college, I was fortunate to be a part of a young start-up (30 employees) in customer service. I was able to work my up to technical support, a technical support team lead and finally as a developer. Helping the company grow to 250 employees to its final transition to eBay gave me an early exposure to all aspects of a company. Also, starting in positions supporting end users has ingrained that perspective in me which has benefited me throughout my career.
