I am a project manager living in Richmond Virginia. Originally from Massachusetts, my first IT PM role was in 1999 for the Y2K fix at the Staples Corporate Center. Prior to that my PM experience was gained through construction and engineering management (BS in Construction Management).I briefly extended my time with Staples Corporate for some great POS and Infrastructure projects then worked for the Harvard University Medical School as a project manager until 2005. During this time I began graduate studies at Harvard then went back to school at Villanova and completed my Master’s work in Applied Project Management, graduating in 2004.After moving to Richmond, VA , I went to work as a project manager for LandAmerica Financial Services. During this time I earned my Project Management Professional certification (PMP) and Certified Scum Master credential (CMS) and helped build a divisional Project Management Office (PMO).When LandAmerica filed for bankruptcy in 2008 I spent two years helping marketing companies start Project Management Offices (PMOs). To better understand any unique industry needs I went back to graduate school to get some formal backing to my own SEO experience. In 2010, with my final PMO setup contract complete, I obtained a position with a tart-up online marketing company in Richmond called NetSearch Direct. This was some of the best experience of my career for project management (building another PMO), online marketing (as SEO/PPC Manager) and overall Information Technology (as IT Manager). Collectively my role was “Production Manager” and was a combination of of those roles mentioned. From 2010 to 2014 we went from a startup of 5 to a company of 25 industry professionals inducted into the Inc. 5000.Having left in May 2015 to get back into project management of very large projects, I am currently a contractor through Capital TechSearch on assignment with Bowlmor-AMF working from their Richmond Corporate offices.
