I developed my skill sets long ago and far away in a land where specialization had not yet taken over the landscape. Consequently, I can write virtually anything effectively, easily switching between the styles and formats required for e-learning, video, textbooks, blogs, articles, websites, brochures, news releases and infomercials. I've worked extensively in distance learning and online learning, writing and producing award-winning documentary-style telecourses as well as designing content for leading edge academic online courses and instructional design for business eLearning.Much of this work was done as an independent contractor for Coast Learning Systems, a division of the Coast Community College District. I was the ghostwriter (with editor credit) of two textbooks and the credited co-author of a geology lab manual. I've designed and produced content, including simulations and media, for numerous online college courses in a variety of fields from geology to statistics, psychology, and biology as well as in sales management training and systems training. I don't have a background in any of these which is what makes it fun! I master new material with a speed that sometimes stuns me.Among these diverse talents, I especially enjoy and excel in scriptwriting. An award-winning producer/director in my own right, videos and documentaries based on my scripts have won numerous awards and that highest of all praise, “My project achieved its objectives!” One of the strengths I bring to any project is clarity. What do you really want to say to whom, and why? How are they likely to receive it? What would you like them to know/feel/do that they don't right now? It's amazing how often this is only partially thought out. I use a three-point program to ensure that not a single word of a project is written until we've pinned down who the audience is, where they are now, and where you want them to go. Then I craft the content that will move them there.

In three years, improved employee ratings of company communications by 26 percent.
